June 1, 2023 – Universo Ferrari, an immersive exhibition
showcasing the world of Ferrari, opened its doors for the first time in Asia in
Korea. Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) in Seoul is hosting
this highly anticipated event for four days from today to June 4th.
Universo Ferrari in Korea is the third such event to be held globally,
following Italy and Australia, and is the first in Asia.
Universo Ferrari is carefully curated with different areas to highlight all aspects of the company’s extensive activities, from classic car services to Formula 1 racing, from the exclusive experiences organised for Ferrari clients to the current model line-up, including the latest Ferrari Roma Spider, launched globally in March this year. A total of 22 Ferrari models are displayed, including 19 cars and three prototypes. The exhibition is conducted as a guided docent tour lasting approximately one hour. In some themed areas, the representatives from the Italian headquarters participated exceptionally as guides.
Of particular note, Universo
Ferrari served as the local launch platform for the brand’s new convertible
sports car, the Ferrari Roma Spider, which made its debut in Korea on this occasion. The Korean Premiere was attended by Benedetto Vigna, Chief Executive Officer
of Ferrari, Enrico Galliera, Chief Marketing and Commercial Officer of Ferrari,
Dieter Knechtel, President of Ferrari Far & Middle East, and Kwang Chul
Kim, Chief Executive Officer of FMK.
The Ferrari Roma Spider moves
the “La Nuova Dolce Vita” concept of Ferrari Roma beyond city limits for
elegant and carefree driving. This spider maintains the flowing proportions and
specifications of the Ferrari Roma’s hugely successful V8 2+ concept, but with
the striking addition of the first soft-top to feature on a front-engined Prancing
Horse car in 54 years.
In addition, graduate students
from the College of Engineering at Seoul National University were invited to
the event and had an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the Ferrari
brand through the eyes of innovation. A special session was organized for the
students to discuss the future of the automotive industry with Ferrari’s CEO,
Benedetto Vigna, focusing on three pillars: innovation, technology, and
sustainability.
Universo Ferrari is available exclusively to Ferrari clients and guests from today to June 3rd and will be opened to the broader public on June 4th, the final day of the exhibition. The public day tickets, which went on sale online on May 15th, sold out within just one minute, demonstrating the immense popularity of the event.
“Korea is a very important market for Ferrari, and holding this special exhibition in Seoul is our way of thanking all our owners and fans for their passion and support. With Universo Ferrari, we wanted to give visitors a chance to see close up what being a part of the Ferrari family means,” said Enrico Galliera.
