Seoul,
8 June 2023 – Ferrari continues to
show its commitment to the education of future generations during Universo
Ferrari in South Korea. The event, held for the first time in Asia, took place
at the Dongdaemum Design Plaze from 1st to 4th June,
2023. Benedetto
Vigna, CEO of Ferrari, invited 10 students from the College of Engineering at
Seoul National University to discuss about Ferrari and the future of the
automotive industry.
Universo Ferrari is an exhibition
that highlights
all aspects of the company’s extensive activities, from classic car services to
Formula 1 racing, from the exclusive experiences for Ferrari clients to the
current sports cars, including the latest Ferrari Roma Spider that made its
Korean premiere at the event. After touring the exhibition, the students participated
in a special question-and-answer session with Mr. Vigna, focusing on the future
of the automotive industry with three key pillars: innovation, technology and
sustainability.
In terms
of sustainability, Mr Vigna commented: “It is time for all of us to reconsider
performance – not just in terms of what we do, but rather the way that we do
it, to be more efficient in terms of our carbon footprint. This is a priority
for us. Ferrari wants to be a catalyst for change, and we aim to show the world
what is possible, with projects in our plan such as a new fuel cell plant,
photovoltaic panels, and the use of recycled aluminium. These are just some
examples of the steps we are taking to ensure that sustainability is not just a
buzzword, but something that is concrete and measurable towards the care of our
planet.”
Some of
the students who attended the meeting will be invited to visit the Ferrari
headquarters in Maranello, Italy, later this year to tour the manufacturing
facilities. Another occasion for Ferrari to inspire these engineers of the
future.
